Durable boundaries
A durable boundary is a durable operation: effect, waitForEvent / wait_for_event, sleep, or invoke.
At each durable operation, the host can commit the Program’s control position and the values required to continue. After a failure, the Execution resumes from that boundary without rerunning earlier code to reconstruct its position.
Durable boundaries are explicit; ordinary assignments between them do not create separate commits. Adding more boundaries increases the number of persistence operations a host performs, but recovery still resumes from a continuation rather than replaying the completed prefix.
See How recovery works and Durable operations.
